A Lecturer in Kerbala University Publishes a Scientific Article in the Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences

Associate Professor Dr. Abbas Sahi Al-Rikabi from the College of Engineering published an article about the effect of mass flow rate on the heat transfer of a flat plate solar collector via using Nano fluids. The article was published in the Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (IF: 0.7).
The article investigated, experimentally and numerically, the effect of Nano fluid (ZnO-water) on the heat transfer of a flat plate solar collector. The main aim of the article is to examine the heat transfer in the flat solar collector by using ANSYS FLUENT with using (ZnO/H2O) as an absorbing medium (the working fluid) at a volume fraction of 0.5% and a flow rate of (1,2,3) L/min.
The experiments of the study were conducted in Karbala. The results indicated that the maximum outlet-inlet temperature difference was obtained at (0.5 vol. %) for the Nano fluid (ZnO-water) at the peak value curve of (150C) and a flow rate of (1 lpm) while in the case of water, the maximum outlet-inlet temperature difference was (10.20C).
