Kerbala University  Making a Smart Medical Interactive bed for Patients with Corona Works by voice command called (Sumer)

As part of efforts to reduce infection for patients with a rapidly infecting and spreading Coronavirus through direct or indirect contact with the affected person, a research team from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kerbala is able to manufacture an intelligent interactive bed for Corona patients using voice commands called (Sumer)

The team consists of Dr. Haider Ismail Shehadi and both student Ali Abdul Karim Ahmed and student Kawthar Diya Yaseen.

The Dean of Faculty, Dr. Laith Shaker Rashid, says that the Faculty of Engineering seeks through these qualitative projects of an applied technology to keep pace with the global scientific process to translate engineering knowledge and theories into action.  This act also contributes effectively to be a distinguished partner in resolving crises or alleviating them.  He indicates that the cadres of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Karbala continues to provide specific technological solutions to alleviate the severity of this crisis.

For his part, Team Leader Dr. Haider Ismail Shahadi states, to meet  the needs of the university presidency, and pursuant to the recommendations of the Faculty dean, the bed has been manufactured by designing electronic circuits based on artificial neurons and artificial intelligence, which is specifically designed to distinguish voice commands and then make decisions based on them through the main electronic mind  Controlling.

Shahadi adds that the bed contains an intelligent interactive system that employs the Internet of Things (IOT) and electronic brains to accomplish many tasks based on the patient’s voice commands, through the voice commands, the patient can only control several movements in the bed.
