Manufacturing two sterilizers at the University of Kerbala Using Modern Technologies

Given the health conditions the world is going through in general and Iraq in particular due to the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic and out of great concern to solve community issues and provide health and community institutions with everything that helps in limiting the spread of this disease. the Faculty of Engineering at Kerbala University and through its engineering staff manufactures two sterilizers using some modern technologies.

The first device relied on is an effective method to get rid of all microorganisms, including viruses, including coronaviruses that contain RNA by shedding UV rays, which in turn break down the RNA of the virus.  As the designed device can be used at home or health and public institutions to sterilize personal belongings and medical tools.  The type of radiation used in the device is type C with a wavelength of 254 nanometers of 4 watts. It is possible to develop the device by adding a timer that will determine the time required to shine the radiation.

As for the second device, it depends on UV sterilization, and it is intended to sterilize the beds of patients and surfaces, as well as floors. UV rays of 12 watts and a wavelength of 254 nanometers have been used, and can be adjusted to charge for one hour.

The dean of the Faculty, Dr. Laith Al-Qarawi, states that we sare looking for  investing our scientific and research energies and through our teaching and technical staff in the effective contribution in finding life solutions in this crisis and beyond to express its human and scientific mission and highlight the real role in developing solutions to problems facing society.
