Faculty of Law – University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph. D. dissertation which is entitled (principle of reciprocity in international diplomatic law), submitted by Jinan Kadhim Ginger.
The dissertation aims at demonstrating principles of reciprocity as it has become a common concept in practice of international relations. It is a way to promote cooperation between countries without being bound by the literal rules.
The study shows the need to prevent acts that violate international law in applying reciprocity principle in framework of diplomatic relations. Among these exceptions to this principle is case of the use of force, as states may not resort to reciprocity; this constitutes a violation of the Charter of the United Nations, which prohibits the use or threat of force.
