College of Science \/ University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph.D dissertation which is entitled Clinical and Histopathological impact of two anti Hypoglycaemic drugs on human and animal cohorts in Karbala. It deal with some physiological and histopathological impacts of metformin and empagliflozin in men and male rats with type 2 diabetes<\/span>
\nThe study submitted by Barakat Wathiq Rabbat, aims at comparing the impact of these drugs on sugar level individually in patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and evaluating consequences of the two drugs on sugar level and functions of liver, kidney, pancreas and their tissues compared to control groups of experimental animals.<\/span>
\nThe study includes a quantitative experimental investigation to study therapeutic effect of metformin as a single treatment and compare it with empagliflozin as a single treatment for patients with type 2 diabetes newly diagnosed in short term, as well as male rats with type 2 diabetes induced by high-fat, high-sugar feeding.<\/span>
\nThe study recommends short-term use of metformin for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients, due to its availability and lower cost, along with daily monitoring of blood sugar levels, healthy eating, and exercise. It is also suggested conducting extensive studies on the effect of amoxicillin on other organs such as the brain, heart, and ovaries, and its effect on gestational diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome.<\/span><\/p>\n
