College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kerbala, has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “the effect of whole flax seeds in a low-energy diet on productive performance of broiler chickens and gene expression under influence of heat stress”.<\/span>
\nTo be submitted by Harith Mudhar Jawad, the study aims at evaluating positive and negative effects of using flax seeds as an alternative to vegetable oils as an energy source, especially after exposing chicks in experiment to heat stress.<\/span>
\nThe findings show analysis of studied traits including gene expression and tissue sections in addition to production traits that flax seeds constitute a suitable and effective alternative as an energy source. The study confirms that growing flax seeds locally in Iraq is a promising step that can contribute significantly to reducing costs of poultry production and enhancing productivity, by providing an economic and effective alternative to traditional energy sources such as vegetable oils.<\/span><\/p>\n
