To be environmentally friendly catalysts, College of Science , University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Synthesis of benzimidazole Derivatives using mesoporous silica as heterogeneous catalysts”<\/span>
\nThe study, which has been presented by Baraa Ahmed Nema, addresses synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives using mesoporous silica extracted from rice husks as low-cost and environmentally friendly heterogeneous catalysts.<\/span>
\nThe study aims at synthesis of two new catalysts, [MCM-41-(PSim)][SO4H] and [MCM-41-(PSim)][PO4H2], which have been characterized using advanced techniques such as FTIR, XRD, and FESEM-EDS scanning electron microscopy.<\/span>
\nThe results demonstrate efficiency of these catalysts in synthesizing benzimidazole derivatives under mild conditions and potential of multiple reuse.<\/span>
\nIt also recommends the need to prepare new catalysts, extract silica from various natural sources such as barley, wheat, and oat husks, and examining medical and biological applications of prepared benzimidazole derivatives.<\/span><\/p>\n
