College of Science _ University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Finding out some Rate Equations Parameters for Passively Q_ Switched Lasers Using Optimizing Technology”<\/span>
\nBeing submitted by Duaa Sabbar Salman, the study aims at finding out optimal values of some rate equation coefficients for a Cr:LiSAF laser system using Cr:YSO4 as a saturable absorber. The rate equations were first solved numerically using Range\u2013Kata method, and then optimization technique was used to determine the optimal values for this system.<\/span>
\nThe thesis demonstrates that dissolution rate of saturable absorber and the upper laser level decrease with increasing number of particles, leading to increase pulse energy and short pulse duration.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is recommended that ground-level absorption cross-sectional area of saturable absorber be large, and that the absorber’s dissolution rate be low, to achieve high-energy, short-duration pulses when operating laser systems with a passive switch.<\/span><\/p>\n
