Being submitted by Hussein Hassan Rukun, College of Education for Humanities, University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “A Cognitive Grammar Study of Narrative Structure System in John R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings”.<\/span>
\nThe study aims at analyzing narrative structures of selected scenes from the selected novel according to Ronald Langecker’s theory of cognitive grammar. This is done by adopting standard event model and applying compositional trajectory to each scene, in an attempt to represent mental representation of the event.<\/span>
\nThe importance of this study lies in being a fantasy novel being analyzed based on applications of cognitive grammar theory. Thus, it attempts to fill gap and add a new scientific contribution to this field.<\/span><\/p>\n

It finds out that any writer must employ cognitive, semantic, and grammatical structures deeply rooted in their mind, even when crafting fictional events.<\/span><\/p>\n
