With participation of researchers, academics, and employees, Strategic Studies Centre _University of Kerbala holds a scientific symposium which is entitled “High-Impact Media: Characteristics, Problems, and Future Prospects”.<\/span>
\nIt discusses several topics, most notably: the concept of high-impact media, its characteristics in influencing public opinion, problems associated with its growing role in contemporary communications environment, and a future-oriented reading of its role in light of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies.<\/span>
\nThe symposium explains that high-impact media represents a multiplier force in shaping media agenda and directing public attitudes. It emphasizes the need to harness this capacity to serve societal and national issues, rather than diverting attention to secondary or entertainment issues, or raising issues that spread fear and undermine world peace.<\/span>
\nThe symposium ends up with several recommendations, including the need to intensify academic research in this field, establishing specialized units to monitor rumors and media disinformation, collaborating with technology platforms to develop tools that quickly and effectively detect false content, establishing legislative and ethical controls to limit the use of high-impact media as a tool for political propaganda or ideological incitement, and strengthening awareness-raising role.<\/span><\/p>\n
