Being presented by Dr. Qasim Hamza Mirza, Dr. Labeeb Abdul Rasoul Abdul Razzaq, and Asst. Lect. Haneen Hussein Farhoud, College of Pharmacy, University of Kerbala holds a scientific course on pharmacovigilance and its role in disseminating knowledge about proper use of medications and reducing risks of misuse.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course deals with the concept of pharmacovigilance, its main objectives, and its role in promoting safe medication use and reducing risks and adverse effects.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also includes a presentation on chronological development of pharmacovigilance, along with an explanation of key terms directly connected to this field. It further addresses international pharmacovigilance scales, most notably Naranjo Scale, which is globally recognized for assessing causal relationship between medication use and the occurrence of side effects.<\/span>
\nThe course reviews the most prominent international and local institutions and organizations concerned with regulating pharmacovigilance, as well as clarifying mechanisms of collecting and reporting drug information, and improving reporting efficiency and promoting a culture of drug safety.<\/span><\/p>\n
