At 24 September 2020, a workshop for the project (OKP-IRAQ Project 2020-2021), which is funded by the Dutch government and run by Nuffic and partner from Iraqi consortium Universities, held in the presence of the President of Kerbala University and members of the Kerbala University team. As this session included a presentation on the importance of the project for the city of Karbala and the benefits that will result from it related to smart climate agriculture and efficient water management.<\/span>
\nThe project coordinator for the University of Karbala, Dr Ahmed Al-Moadhen, gave a detailed presentation on the importance of the project. This presentation explored the stages that the project will pass, the indicators that the project will focus on, and then the expected results after the completion of this project. <\/span>
\nAmong the important aspects that the project will focus on:<\/span>
\n1- Development of educational and learning methods for academic and non-academic staff.<\/span>
\n2- Developing the capabilities of team members in conducting collaborative research with governmental, and non-governmental agencies and they will be instructors for the academic staff of University Kerbala and the farmers.<\/span>
\n3- Developing the team\u2019s capabilities regarding efficient water management and the transition to smart climate agriculture.<\/span>
\n4- Working on establishing smart knowledge transfer facilities used for training and teaching.<\/span>
\n5- Development of university policy and strategy regarding gender management and preparing university graduates for labour markets.<\/span><\/p>\n

And at the end of the workshop, the university president thanked all the project partners from both sides (Dutch and Iraqi) and valued the team\u2019s efforts wishing them all success in accomplishing their duties and in the interest of the city of Karbala.<\/span><\/p>\n
