{"id":3381,"date":"2021-04-18T10:14:21","date_gmt":"2021-04-18T07:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uokerbala.edu.iq\/en\/?p=3381"},"modified":"2021-04-18T10:14:21","modified_gmt":"2021-04-18T07:14:21","slug":"an-m-a-thesis-at-kerbala-university-studying-the-behaviour-of-sandwich-concrete-roofs-made-of-lightweight-local-aggregates-under-the-impact-of-shock-loading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uokerbala.edu.iq\/en\/an-m-a-thesis-at-kerbala-university-studying-the-behaviour-of-sandwich-concrete-roofs-made-of-lightweight-local-aggregates-under-the-impact-of-shock-loading\/","title":{"rendered":"An M.A. Thesis at Kerbala University Studying the Behaviour of sandwich concrete roofs made of lightweight local aggregates under the impact of shock loading."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis titled &#8220;The behavior of sandwich concrete roofs made of lightweight local aggregates under the impact of the shock load.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The thesis presented by the student Yasmine Aziz Abd Al-Sada aims at knowing the ability of sandwich concrete ceilings to withstand the effects of shock.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The thesis includes conducting a laboratory study of the behaviour of reinforced sandwich concrete ceilings consisting of lightweight concrete under the influence of shock loading. Reinforced concrete slabs of ordinary concrete and lightweight concrete were poured and examined using two different types of lightweight aggregates and different patterns of shear linking and different proportion of siderophile.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The shock test was performed using a dropping weight device. The amount of shock load was measured over time and the reactions resulting from the shock load were measured for each concrete slab examined.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The results have showed that the use of lightweight concrete led to a reduction in the load and an increase in deflection for a decrease in weight compared with regular concrete in addition to the benefits of sustainability due to the use of locally available materials.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">It is noteworthy that this study has been carried out in a cooperation with Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, which enhances the presence of Kerbala University in the international rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a
