Under the patronage of the the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kadhim Abdel-Saheb, and supervision of Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil al-Saedi, Kerbala University has held its 9th International Conference on Applied Science and Technology (ICAST). The conference has the slogan “The Advancement of Countries is Based on Scientific and Technological Progress”. It aims at studying the problems faced by the society in the public and private sectors within the applied sciences and technology so as to develop appropriate solutions. <\/span>
\nThe conference includes the following axes: Chemical Science, Biological Science, Physics Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security, Other Topics in Technologies and Science Applications.<\/span>
\nThe President of the University, Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil al-Saedi, says that the conference tackles the problems faced by the country that affect the country’s development in technology and applied science.<\/span>
\nThe Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Jassim Al-Awadi, states that there are about 128 research papers submitted to participate in the conference. <\/span>
\nThe Head of the Preparatory Committee for the Conference, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Hadi Al-Asadi, mentions that the accepted papers will be published in the US AIP Publishing House, which is classified within Scopus containers.<\/span><\/p>\n
