Strategic Studies Center \/ University of Kerbala, in cooperation with the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at Al- Hussainiya Holy Shrine, has organized a study on “Phenomenon of Divorce in Iraq – Causes and Solutions”.<\/span>
\nIt aims at diagnosing the phenomenon of divorce by studying the most important reasons that increase it, since it has negative effects on Iraqi society in general.<\/span>
\nThe symposium includes a discussion of religious aspect and the Islamic Sharia\u2019s vision of divorce, possible solutions laid down by Sharia, conditions that must be met to reduce divorce rate, and the most important problems that lead to divorce. The symposium recommends the necessity of educating society on marital issues, continuing efforts to develop appropriate solutions to this dangerous phenomenon, paying attention to legal and ethical issues.<\/span><\/p>\n
