It has been presented by Maryam Hassan Mohamed. It aims at applying the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) to predict the quantity of wastewater as well as the quality of the sewage system of the research area resulting from the surface storm water intrusion of the system during in different return periods, and suggesting solutions to reduce the quantity and quality of wastewater during rainfall.
It involves manually calibrating the quantitative model by changing the influencing sub-catchment characteristic using modeled and measured discharges. The values of NMSE (0.123) and (R) (0.86) are within limits and proved that the model is valid. While in the quality model, the results of sensitivity analysis indicate that the maximum possible accumulation is the most sensitive parameter for model calibration, and the quality model is calibrated using the real precipitation event, the validation coefficients R (0.81-0.82) and NMSE (0.0173-0.022) confirmed the validity of the model.
The evaluation results of the quantitative model indicates that the system work very well in dry weather flow but in some locations it is flooded during storm water intrusion in wet weather flow.

Faculty of Engineering / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled” Impact of Storm Water on the Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation of the Sewage: A Case Study of Samawa City”.
