Faculty of Nursing \/ University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled “mothers’ knowledge and attitudes towards the prevention and home-based management of diarrheal disease among under-five children in the eastern city of Hamza”. It is presented by Mohammed Jamil Wahhab.<\/span>
\nThis study aims at assessing mothers’ knowledge and attitudes regarding the prevention and home treatment of diarrhea in children under five years of age .It examined the relationship between mothers’ knowledge and attitudes and their demographic data.<\/span>
\nThe thesis indicates that most mothers have little knowledge about diarrhea prevention, and they gave wrong answers and little knowledge of diarrheal disease.<\/span>
\nThe study recommends conducting an educational programme to increase mothers’ knowledge and attitudes of among under-five children, as well as implement educational programmes for mothers about the use and preparation of oral rehydration fluids at home, and to promote appropriate nutrition during an episode of diarrhea and feeding children<\/span><\/p>\n
