Faculty of Administration and Economics – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled \u201cEstimation of Hazard Function of Complex Distribution (Gompertz – Exponential): A Practical Study\u201d.<\/span>
\nThe thesis, presented by Hatem Abdel Rahman Barak Al-Samarrai, includes finding a new probability distribution, which is (Gompertz\u00a0Exponential) using Compound Distributions method.<\/span>
\nThe aim of the study is showing the efficiency of the distribution in representing a sample of real data. It is applied to a large random sample of patients, represented by duration of their survival until death or recovery for patients with breast cancer. By applying the best methods, it is found that the exponential Gompertz distribution fits these data better and interprets its manners compared to Gompertz or exponential distribution alone.<\/span>
\nThe study concludes the preference of greatest possibility method in estimating the hazard function for exponential Gompertz distribution for all sample sizes.<\/span><\/p>\n
