Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences \/University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled (Association of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes with the Severity of Psoriatic Iraqi Patients in Kerbala Province). It is presented by (Raed Omran Musa).<\/span>
\nThe thesis aimed at studying the association of some bacterial causes with severity of disease, in addition to study the effect of some risk factors on the severity of the disease.<\/span>
\nThe study includes detection that more than half of psoriasis patients had antibodies to H. pylori, and there is also a significant correlation between the presence of these antibodies with the PASI score.<\/span>
\nThe average age of psoriasis is higher in females, and the onset of the disease occur at a younger age in females than in males, with regard to body mass index, almost half of the patients had a normal body mass index.<\/span><\/p>\n

The study concluded that there is a significant relationship between the severity of the disease with sex and age, as well as the presence of a high percentage of patients with psoriasis having infection with H.pylori bacteria.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis recommended a broader study in which the treatment of H pylori bacteria in people with psoriasis who have this bacteria is followed up and the severity of their disease is monitored after treatment, and a study is done to detect the presence of some antibacterial peptides and to compare the percentage of these proteins between people with psoriasis with other healthy people.<\/span><\/p>\n
