Faculty of Science \/University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled “preparation and characterization of iron oxide nanoparticles and their use in the removal of some water contaminants “.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis, presented by Hussein Mahawish Mohammed, includes preparation of iron nanoparticles with and without the use of a surfactant and its application in the removal of eosin yellow dye as a water contaminant.<\/span>
\nThe aim of the thesis is preparing nanostructures of magnetic iron oxide (Fe3O4) as a catalyst and studying the effect of using positive, negative and neutral surfactants on preparation methods, as well as studying properties of the prepared nanostructures using FTIR spectroscopy.<\/span>
\nThe thesis recommends the preparation of iron oxide nanoparticles using environmentally friendly methods, being less expensive and non-toxic, bonding the nanoparticles with other surfactants, and characterizing the prepared surfaces using other techniques such as atomic force microscopy (AFM).<\/span><\/p>\n
