University of Kerbala has organized a scientific symposium on mechanism of transferring administrative work from paper to electronic system, in presence of President of the University, Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile, Vice president for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein, and a number of university professors and employees.<\/span>
\nProf. Dr. Basim K. Nile says that the course comes to urge university\u2019s faculties to introduce modern technological systems into administrative work, as well as creating an integrated electronic database of students, professors, and materials.<\/span>
\nIn his speech, Nile calls professors, deans and heads of scientific departments, for being cornerstone to success of this modern experiment, noting at the same time that faculties that excelled in implementing the new system would be appreciated.<\/span>
\nProf. Dr. Najm Abdel Hussein, vice President of for Scientific Affairs, states that the symposium is the first step in implementing electronic system at the university, pointing out that the university is determined to apply it during the current academic year.<\/span>
\nFor his part, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Kareem Abdul Rahim, Director of Registration and Student Affairs Department, explains that the symposium aims at clarifying mechanism of working on new electronic system, stressing the establishment of workshops and practical courses to enable university staff to work on the system and avoid problems that they may encounter.<\/span>
\nIt is noteworthy that Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has already directed the need to move towards electronic governance, due to facilities it provides in completing official correspondence.<\/span><\/p>\n
