Faculty of Science \/ University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph.D dissertation which is entitled ” Synthesis of Dendrimers and Imidazoles Derivatives and Study their Biochemical and Biological Applications”.<\/span>
\nThe study, presented by Sawsan Khudair Abbas, aims at synthesizing of organic polyamidoamine branched compounds, preparing heterocyclic compounds such as imidazoles, studying their biochemical applications as anti-urine stones, and knowing their ability to inhibit growth of stones, in addition to their applications as anti-diabetics and stabilize sugar enzyme alpha-amylase, and alpha-glucosidase and its antibacterial and its effect on blood hemolysis.<\/span>
\nThe thesis includes synthesis and diagnosis of highly branched dendrimers (PAMAM dendrimers) and imidazole derivatives (triimidazole and tetraimidazole), important organic compounds that play an important role in medicinal chemistry, as well as studying their properties in biochemical and biological applications. Some of the prepared compounds are subjected to anti-urinary stone activity and examined, its anti-diabetic activity and anti-bacterial activity as well as hemolysis tests.<\/span>
\nThe study concludes that some of these compounds have the ability to inhibit growth of stones and reduce their size, in addition to their ability to inhibit the enzymes responsible for breakdown and rise of sugar, and have ability to inhibit bacteria, and that some of these compounds do not affect the breakdown of blood through conducting blood tests.<\/span>
\nThe study recommends the need to conduct more tests in this area within the body to ensure their use as medicines in the future and to conduct other tests such as antioxidants and toxicity tests.<\/span><\/p>\n
