Faculty of Law \/ University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “crime of electronic begging”, submitted by Murtada Hussein Muhammad.<\/span>
\nThe study aims at addressing phenomenon of online begging, which is considered one of social diseases that accompanied emergence of modern technologies.<\/span>
\nThe study concludes that there is a clear legislative deficiency in criminal laws that combat electronic crimes, including crime of electronic begging.<\/span>
\nThe study recommends the necessity of adding a new text to effective Iraqi Penal Code stipulating that every person who begs using electronic devices be punished with imprisonment for a period of no less than three years or a penalty exceeding five million Iraqi dinars.<\/span><\/p>\n
