College of Science, University of Kerbala organizes a workshop which addresses the relationship between family breakdown and suicide.
To enhance students’ psychological and social awareness, it has been presented by Dr. Alaa Farak Hussein and Dr. Ehsan Mahdi Shahid. It deals with family’s breakdown causes and its impact on mental health, particularly among young people.
The workshop also highlights the link between weakened family ties, increased psychological stress and risky behaviours. It discusses the importance of family support in building a balanced personality, the role of educational institutions in providing guidance and awareness, and proposed solutions to mitigate this phenomenon.
The workshop ends up with emphasizing the need for integrated efforts between families, educational institutions, and the community to promote mental health and reduce family breakdown.
