The Influence of the Noble Qur’an in the Poet of Imam ‘Ali’s (pbuh) Companions

Abstract
All praise be to Allah, blessings and peace be upon the most noble
of the Messengers, the Prophet Muhammed and on his kinsmen
and disciples.
Poetry is regarded as part of the Arab’s heritage in which they
could have recorded their prides, events and erotic poetry. By
time, this type of literature has included many elements of beauty
and rhetoric. By the age of the divine revelation onto the Prophet
Muhammed (pbuh), the Arab cultural organization was exposed to
sudden surprise in view of the emergence of the Islamic scripture,
the Qur’an. This holy book contains creative and beautiful
components and could make an exchange or rather modification
that marvelously had the admiration of most of the Arab world.
That could be attributed to the fact that there are many styles,
structures and expressions in the Qur’an which could have evoked
the Arab poets in particular.
The research, however, tries to detect the Qur’anic effects in the
verse of Imam ‘Ali’s companions in this thesis that is entitled as “
The Influence of the Qura’n in the Poetry of Imam ‘Ali’s
Companions”. The set of these prominent figures’ poems has been
nicely affected by the Qur’anic structures. The researcher,
therefore, has traced the poetical efforts of fifteen companions
through their collections of poems that have been investigated by
great scholars. Additionally, the researcher has used the analytical
approach to come up with aesthetic styles which have been
derived from the Qur’an in these works.
The thesis consists of preface and three chapters. The preface
contains the concepts of the influence in the language and
terminology, the affection of the Qur’an in the linguistics and the
literature and outlined definitions on the companions of Imam ‘Ali.
Chapter one, the Qur’anic reference point of the Imam ‘Ali
companions and its impact on their poetical texts. Chapter two
includes the Qur’anic image in the verse of the companions of
Imam ‘Ali. Chapter three sheds lights on the influence of the
Qur’anic styles in their poetry. Moreover, the thesis has final
conclusions in the end.
