The concept of bullying from the Islamic perspective ( a jurisprudential study)

Abstract
This thesis discusses the phenomenon of bullying and its negative action, which has extended widely in the modern society with different fields. The bullying has become the language of the era, whether between individuals or groups. The negative behavior of bulling has many adverse effects and consequences on the individual and the society. As it is not hidden, there are several reasons behind the bulling like: psychological, family, social, media and others. This behavior has become a threat to the security of the individuals and families, particularly with the technological development that occurs to the social media. This made bullying easy and available to the bully at any time. Therefore, this research studied the bullying behavior and methodologies of treatment and explained its ruling according to the Islamic jurisprudence. After studying this phenomenon, the research concluded that the term bullying is in general includes negative and positive sides, however, bullying commonly, when it is released, refers to the negative side only. Despite the newness of this term, its forbiddingness is found in the Holy Qur’an and the noble Sunnah; as it does not stop ridiculing. In addition to the multiple indications of the bullying, the prohibition of which is evident in the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah. Bullying entails worldly punishment in addition to punishment in the Hereafter. In some cases, the bully deserves more than one punishment for committing more than one crime at a time, such as: a bully slanders a person, then the punishment of the slander is deserved; a bully assaults a person by beating or breaking a limb, so a retribution, without the soul, is earned; a bully calls on anther a name that is hated, a reprimand is then deserved. In the case of a bully has deserved more than one punishment, the legitimate ruler begins with what is less than murder and leaves murder as the last punishment.
