College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph.D. dissertation which is entitled “physiological and biochemical criteria and effect of polymorphism (397pvuII, 351xbaI) of ER-α gene in women with uterine fibrosis in holy Karbala Governorate”.
The study, submitted by Thanaa Abdul-Sada Khaddam, aims at knowing the reason for the increase in cases of uterine fibrosis so as to know and the effect of uterine fibrosis on some physiological criteria (PRG, E, LH, FSH) and hormonal receptors for estrogen and progesterone.
The dissertation recommends studying polymorphism of ER-α gene in more than one governorate to obtain large population groups to ensure repetition of genetic patterns.
