University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled Molecular Diagnosis of date Moth Insect

College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “molecular diagnosis of date moth Ephestia cautella (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), submitted by Nour Al-Huda Mahmoud Kadhim.
The study shows the importance of effect of interaction between some date varieties with different temperatures to determine sensitive and resistant varieties to date moth, as sensitivity of some date varieties to it has been studied and some environmentally friendly factors evaluated in controlling it.
The study aims at using vacuum device to know the storage methods of some varieties and to know the best varieties sensitive to the insect and the least susceptible to infection. It also addresses the effect of alcoholic and nano extract of Moring Oleifera leaves on some aspects of date moth life cycle. and the importance of applying modern technologies represented by next generation technology as the latest molecular methods.
