University of Kerbala Holds its Conference Highlighting the Role of Educational and Psychological Sciences in Achieving Sustainable Development

Under direction of President of University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and in cooperation with Department of Internal Affairs and Educational Guidance and Counseling Division, College of Education for Humanities organizes a scientific conference examining the role of educational, psychological, and counseling sciences in sustainable development and community peace.
The conference aims at identifying the role of educational, psychological, and counseling sciences in addressing contemporary changes, increase awareness of scientific methods for achieving sustainable development, and learning contemporary scientific developments in psychological and educational counseling.
Addressing various topics, the conference includes the role of curricula in combating extremism, psychological counseling in Holy Quran and the Prophet’s biography, and its role in improving mental health, its impact on sustainable development, and the impact of psychological counseling on achieving cybersecurity.
The conference has been attended by President of the University , Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali; a member of Parliamentary Education Committee, Dr. Firas Al-Maslamawi; Deputy Governor, Ali Al-Mayali; Chairman of Education Committee of Provincial Council, Dr. Mohsin Al-Kanani and Director of Karbala Center for Strategic Studies, Abdul Aeeir Al-Quraishi.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali explains that educational and psychological sciences and counseling play a significant role in achieving sustainable development and promoting societal peace through development of comprehensive educational curricula that achieve justice and equality and promote values ​​of cooperation, building peaceful and sustainable societies.
He also adds that sustainable development focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills, enabling individuals to face challenges and achieve progress through education.
