College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Kerbala organizes a scientific workshop on “Environmental Waste Management”.
Presented by Dr. Mona Ibrahim Jassim, the workshop aims at exploring environmental waste management as one of biggest challenges facing the world today, especially with increasing quantities resulting from population growth and industrialization.
The workshop includes characteristics of some insects, such as (Hermetia illucens) and (Tenebrio molitor), which have the ability to quickly and efficiently break down organic matter.
The workshop recommends the need to pay attention to such topics because primary goal of environmental waste management is to reduce environmental and health impacts. Insect-based waste management technology is one of the most important sustainable solutions in modern era.
