The Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Kerbala has discussed the an M.A. thesis entitled (studying the protective role of the aqueous extract of the seeds of the Cress plant on some histopathological standards in male rats treated with lead states),
The thesis , presented by the student Khalaf Hamid Abdul Rashid, aims at studying the histological changes of the liver and kidney tissues of laboratory animals subjected to sodium nitrate and to know the documentary effect of red dragon fruit extract on these tissue changes.
The thesis discusses the study of some histological measurements of the liver, including measuring the rates of hepatic sinus diameters, the central hepatic veins, the rate of hepatocyte diameters, measuring the rates of the renal glomerulus, the proximal convoluted tubule, and the distal twisted tubule of the kidney tissue, and measuring the level of concentration of the enzyme basal phosphatase and the two enzymes transporting the amine group.
The thesis indicates that the phytochemical components using high-performance liquid chromatography technology and the plant extract of red dragon fruit possessing significant concentrations of vitamin C and vitamin e, and according to another technique, their possession of high quantities of phenols and flavonoids, which gives them great importance for therapeutic uses, Oral sodium nitrate reflux resulted in oxidative stress. The cause of tissue damage in the liver and kidney tissue represented by changes in the average diameter of each of the hepatocellular cells, sinuses, central vein, and the diameters of the renal glomerulus and the proximal and distal convoluted tubule. Compared with the control group, it has found that reflux with aqueous extract of red dragon fruit at a concentration of 750mg / kg had the strongest effect in reducing Effects of sodium nitrate with regard to the studied physiological and histological parameters,
The discussion emphasizes the study of the effect of the aqueous extract of red dragon fruit on some functional parameters and hormones of female white rats, a histological study to find out the effect of the alcoholic extract of red dragon fruit in some systems such as the digestive and respiratory system and its effect on the adrenal gland and the kidney, studying the effect of the aqueous extract of red dragon fruit on testicular tissue The epididymis and some fertility criteria after using one of the cytotoxic chemicals, and the need to conduct other studies to find out the effect of sodium nitrate as a preservative in other organs in the body of white rats such as the brain, stomach and intestine, as well as studying the preventive and therapeutic effect of red dragon fruit extract for laboratory animals in which cancer is induced. To conduct studies to demonstrate the effect of the preservative on the tissues of both the heart and lungs of white rats, it is possible to take advantage of the active compounds in the red dragon fruit extract after its isolation to reduce the side effects of preservatives in white rats.
