Faculty of Nursing, University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled” Relationship between Awareness and Health Beliefs with Behaviour of Preventing Anemia in Pregnant Women”, a study of a high rate of anemia in different countries that leads to increased morbidity and mortality among mothers and newborns. It is prepared by Rasha Hussein Aliwi.
The study aims at assessing pregnant women’s awareness, their health beliefs and relationship to preventive behavior. A descriptive, correlational study is conducted on a sample of 250 pregnant women at Obstetrics and Gynecology Teaching Hospital in Karbala of the period (1 February to 5 April 2022), and the credibility of the questionnaire has been investigated.
The study concludes women’s health awareness and health beliefs contribute to a low prevalence of anemia, so pregnant women need health awareness programmes through social media in order to improve their preventive behaviour.
