Worldwide, as the coronavirus crisis accelerates, experts and engineers are hearing the call of duty especially with ventilators in seriously short supply and hospitals cannot find anywhere to buy the medical devices. In the holy city of Karbala in the middle of Iraq, a group work team of scientists and engineers from the University of Kerbala – college of Engineering were racing against time to develop a low-cost medical ventilator that could save lots of lives if coronavirus pandemic overwhelms the country and the health care system collapses. In this case, there would not be enough ventilators available in hospitals for all of the potential patients who would be struck by the virus. The ventilator provides two different lines of air and oxygen with the possibility of adjusting the flow rate and the supply time of both of them using a handy electronic control system.
