A lecturer from University of Kerbala Obtains a Patent in the Use of Nanofluid

Asst. Prof. Dr. Farhan Lafta Rashid Al-Taie, College of Engineering , University of Kerbala, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Zina Ali Abdul-Ridha, College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, obtain a joint patent from Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control.

Being entitled (THERMAL ANALYSIS ON THE FUEL ROD ASSEMBLIES WITH TRIANGULAR AND SQUARE ARRAY USING NEW NANOFLUID), the patent deals with conducting an experimental simulation of using different concentrations of a nuclear reactor from specific types of nanofluids, compressed water and using it as a coolant in triangular and square fuel rod assemblies.
The patent emphasizes the importance of using some new types of nanofluids with water to cool some types of nuclear reactors in order to reduce temperature of cooling fluids compared to other nanofluids.
