A Lecturer from University of Kerbala Obtains a Patent of increasing Effectiveness of Inhibiting Breast Cancer Cells MCF-7

Prof. Dr. Luma Majid Ahmed , Faculty of Science – University of Kerbala obtained a patent from Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control to be able to prove the increased effectiveness of inhibiting breast cancer cells MCF-7 through the preparation, characterization and use of the nanomedicine Tamoxifen. It also included the preparation, characterization and study of the physical and chemical properties and the exploration of the cytotoxic effect of treatments manufactured by innovative methods that were not previously used by loading tamoxifen in a nano form and by using the method of hybridizing nano-layers in the form and using the usual timoxifen as a standard solution for comparison against the breast cancer cell line. How to introduce Tamoxifen by using hydroxide bilayers, zinc oxide nanoparticles and silver nanoparticles as carriers for Tamoxifen, the prepared hybrid nanoparticles of cancer treatments were successful by diagnosing them using X-ray diffraction technique.
The researcher concluded that the transmission electron microscope (TEM) image revealed the nanoparticles of the prepared cancer therapies, which were spherical and regular in shape.
