The instructor Ali Abdul-Hussein Karim from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala has published a scientific research on the molecular classification, genetic makeup and coexistence of bacteria for the white fly insect transmitting plant viruses in Iraq in the Journal of Applied Entomology, as the first comprehensive global study on the community of this lesion in Iraq
The researcher indicates that the aim of the study is to determine the biological type of the white fly insect and the coexistence bacteria associated with it and to know the genetic makeup of the pest community in its areas of spread in Iraq.
He also explains that the white fly insects are collected from more than 12 locations from central and southern Iraq, and the genetic type spread of this insect in Iraq was studied, which caused the transmission of many viral diseases that are harmful to vegetable crops in greenhouses, the diagnosis of a genetic structure for the community of pests, and the identification of types of coexisting bacteria Endosymbiotic bacteria accompanying the pest.
the results shows that there are two biological types of lesions recorded for the first time in the Iraqi environment, knowing that this type possesses more than 40 biological patterns.
