The Faculty of Medicine at Kerbala University holds a virtual scientific symposium entitled “Diabetes Care in the Era of Pandemic: Transferrable Lessons from the UK NHS Practice”
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharifi, a physician specializing in endocrinology and diabetes from Newcastle Hospital and pharmacist Hanna Pepa, head of the United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacists Association in the United Kingdom, on the Endocrinology and Diabetes branch, has present the symposium which aims at knowing the health procedures for diabetics and those infected with the emerging coronavirus.
The symposium deals with the impact of the emerging coronavirus on patients living with diabetes, as well as its impact on the available health services, the most important steps following up and treating high diabetes in patients with the emerging coronavirus and in hospital, and ways of transferring the experience of the health system in the United Kingdom so as to cope with the situation of quarantine. The symposium also discusses the details of most available treatments for diabetes and the effectiveness and safety of each of them in treating patients infected with coronavirus.
