Eighty-nine Iraqi Universities and Colleges within Webometrics Ranking of World Universities

The results of the Web Matrix Global Ranking have recorded the competition of eighty-nine Iraqi public and private universities and colleges during the first half of 2022
The Webometrics Ranking website

shows the results of the January 2022, which have covered more than thirty-one thousand educational institutions all around the world an increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges within the world rankings reached eighty-nine universities and colleges governmental and private, compared to July 2021, which included 82 universities and colleges.
The University of Baghdad occupies the 1st among Iraqi public and private universities which has the rank (1857) globally, Al-Mustansiriya University ranked second locally which has the rank (2636) globally, and Babylon University has the third locally which is ranked (2787) globally.
It is worth noting that the Web Matrix classification of the Higher Center for Scientific Research in Spain is issued every half year and adopts indicators that measure the virtual presence of universities through their sites, indicating clarity (50%), transparency (10%), and strength and excellence of research (40%).

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi public and private universities and colleges have recorded their escalating competition in the international rankings, including the (The Times) classification in which there are currently four universities, the (QS) classification in which there are five universities, the (Scimago) classification in which there are twenty-two institutions, and the (Greenmetric) classification in which sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges entered, and the URAP classification, in which nine Iraqi universities are located, in addition to the (Webometrics) classification, which have recorded the competition of eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges, while the Scientific Research Index in the global publishing containers shows that Iraq ranked forty-fifth globally and sixth in Middle East and the third Arab.
