Faculty of Agriculture / University of Kerbala Creates Department of Food Science for Undergraduate Studies

Faculty of Agriculture / University of Kerbala announce establishment of Department of Food Sciences for undergraduate studies, starting from the current academic year 2023-2024, and its inclusion in the guide of admission to undergraduate studies announced by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thamer Kareem Khudair, says that food science major is one of the important scientific majors that is in demand in labour market. This is to support national economy by continuing production of organic foods without the use of chemical additives that cause diseases.
He points out opening of the department contributes to providing job opportunities in the private sector, such as dairy, meat, juice, and their need in the public sector.
