Being organized by Karbala governorate to find out solutions of problems and challenges facing the city, University of Kerbala participates in activities of the First Scientific Conference of Karbala Scholars 2025, The university plays a vital role in the conference by forming a scientific committee to evaluate the research submitted by researchers.
The conference identifies four areas for research and solutions: renewable energy, environmental pollution, and public transportation of pilgrims during Arbaeen. The conference also focuses on the most important patents obtained, including professors, students, and specialists.
The conference includes more than 240 research papers, evaluated by a committee formed by University of Kerbala and the governorate.
President of University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali states that this conference represents an important step towards disseminating this experience. It aims at activating the role of scholars in confronting contemporary challenges, anticipating future prospects in various fields, and providing solutions to various sectors facing various problems.
For his part, Karbala Governor Eng. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi highlights the city’s religious, tourist, historical, and scientific assets, noting that the conference represents a true beginning for Karbala’s strategy, hoping that will proceed according to solid scientific frameworks. He emphasizes that the governorate will adopt the best research submitted by researchers, whether from universities or department employees, which could provide real solutions of city’s problems.
For his part, Chairman of Higher Education Committee in the Council of Karbala, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kinani states that the presented research addressed the needs of the city, which addresses some challenges despite its ongoing reconstruction. He praises professors’ efforts of University of Kerbala, who acting a significant role in examining the research presented and demonstrating its validity and accuracy.
