President of University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile, who represented Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the First International Patent Technical Genius Festival, which is organized by Technical Education Authority in General Secretariat of Hussein Shrine, in cooperation with Subtain University of Medical Sciences, under the slogan “Patents towards advanced sustainable technology.”
The festival aims at creating a network of Iraqi and foreign scientists and inventors to present their inventions that contribute to develop level of services at various economic, industrial and agricultural levels, and open horizons of cooperation in order to produce patents that suit requirements of times and the labour market.
Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile states that Iraq has achieved a pioneering historical achievement at most scientific levels, especially at medical level, as National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq obtained international accreditation from World Federation for Medical Education.
He adds that Ministry of Higher education has adopted a methodology aims at internationalizing higher education and scientific research, linking its academic programs with global knowledge variables, and openness to solid educational centers in international forums. This vision has been embodied really in many programs, the most prominent of which is “Study in Iraq” initiative, which attracts hundreds of international students to our universities.
The conference received more than (34) patents in various contents, which will be discussed in festival sessions during the next two days.
A group of inventors from various Iraqi educational institutions and centers, as well as inventors from foreign countries, participated in activities of the festival, which is the first of its kind in Iraq.
The conference activities attended by a group of deans of faculties of University of Kerbala and a number of academics, inventors and official figures.
The festival ends up with honoring President of University of Kerbala and a number of academics, inventors and official figures.
