Two researchers from University of Kerbala are able to Partially Diagnose two New plant Viruses

The researchers, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdel-Jalil, and postgraduate student Muhammad Saadoun / Faculty of Agriculture / University of Kerbala, are able to diagnose and characterize two new viruses that infect trees: Cucumber vein yellowing virus (CVYV) and Cucurbit yellow stunting disorder virus (CYSDV).
According to specialists, benefit of new discovery lies in contributing to clarify the full picture of all viruses, and work on devise varieties that are resistant to them and choose the best methods to overcome them.
It is noteworthy that the diagnosis, which is the first in the country, has been documented in gene bank of National Center for Biotechnology Information.
