Times Asian University Rankings announces results of its 2024 edition, which evaluates seven hundred and thirty-nine universities according to methodology that includes standards and indicators related to teaching, research environment and quality, international outlook, and industry.
The following rankings website shows an increase in index that there are thirteen competing educational institutions in Iraqi universities, compared to the previous version, which includes only eight universities. The results indicate that university of technology occupies (351-400), University of Al-Qadisiyah (501-600), University of Babylon ( 501-600), and University of Diyala (501-600), Al-Nahrain University (601+), Middle Technical University (601+), Al-Mustansiriya University(601+), University of Anbar (601+), University of Baghda University of Basrah (601+), University of Kerbala(601+), University of Kufa (601+), and University of Mosul (601+).

The evaluation criteria are based on seventeen indicators, which are distributed as follows:
-Teaching (24.5%) includes teaching reputation 10%, staff – to- student ratio 4.5%, doctorate- to- bachelor’s ratio 2%, Doctorates-awarded-to-academic-staff ratio 5.5%, and institutional income 2.5%.
-Research environment (28%) includes research reputation 15%, research income 6.5%, and research productivity 6.5.
– Research quality (30%) includes citation influence 7.5%, research strength 7.5%, research excellence 7.5%, and research influence 7.5%.
-International outlook (7.5%) includes proportion of international students 2.5%, proportion of international staff 2.5%, and international collaboration 2.5%.
-Industry (10%) includes industry income 5% and patents 5%.
It is worth noting that Iraq has achieved 37th globally in Times University Rankings of 2024, while University of Kerbala occupies the ninth position ally by registering Iraqi universities competing in classification, which evaluates 2,024 universities from 108 countries around the world.
