Achieving an exceptional and unprecedented accomplishment, University of Kerbala occupies the most 248th world’ most sustainable University in 2025 UI GreenMetric ranking world University Rankings which specializes in measuring universities performance in environmental sustainability.
It has the sixth nationally. This evaluation is based on the performance in six key areas: infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water, sustainable transportation, and education and scientific research. The university has achieved an advanced rankings both nationally and internationally.
This achievement was recognized with the university receiving the official certificate and profile issued by the ranking organization.

This progress is an outcome of efforts made within framework of institutional support and continuous follow-up by the president, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid, the staff and the committees, which enhances diagramming the University on map of sustainable universities globally.
