University of Kerbala Discussing a PhD Dissertation entitled “Studying of Effects of Probiotics Extracted from Bifidobacterium bifidum on the (HBT_ 18) Cancer Cell Line and Investigation of the Gene Expression of NOX4”

College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph.D. dissertation which is entitled ” Studying of Effects of Probiotics Extracted from Bifidobacterium bifidum on the (HBT_ 18) Cancer Cell Line and Investigation of the Gene Expression of NOX4″.
Being submitted by Wassan Ridha Hassan, the study aims at finding out a safe biological treatment as an alternative to chemotherapy, one that is more effective, less expensive, and has fewer side effects on healthy cells.
The dissertation concludes that Bifidobacterium bifidum can be isolated from dairy products, cow’s milk, and human breast milk.
It recommends that biosurfactant extracted from B. bifidum is effective against cancer cells and has no significant adverse effects on normal cells. However, it is suggested to conduct further studies to identify biosurfactant components and determine which ones are most effective in inducing apoptosis in cancer cells.
