University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled Automated Detection and Diagnosis of Human Brain Tumor Using Machine Learning

College of Computer Science and Information Technology / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled Automated detection and diagnosis of human brain tumor using machine learning.
The study, presented by Sarah Ali Abd Al_Hussein, aims at designing a model for detecting human brain tumors based on magnetic resonance images into four different types: (pituitary gland, glioma, meningioma, and the absence of a tumor in normal cases).
The study concludes development of a new model capable of detecting tumor using segmentation and image classification techniques (region-based segmentation and edge-based segmentation).
The study recommends using a region-based segmentation technique and then combining VGG16 model with Random Forest (RF) classification algorithm to classify disease type.
