College of Medicine / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Process of Evaluating premarital examination programme in Karbala Governorate”.
Being submitted by researcher Sumia Ali Hussein, the study aims at determining program’s ability to detect carriers of genetic diseases such as thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, and a number of Infectious diseases.
The study reveals no differences between sexes regarding some diseases such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia, while the results vary between males and females regarding syphilis and viral hepatitis of all kinds.
