University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled “Histological and Biological study of Bellamya spp. Snail in Karbala Governorate”

Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled (histological and biological study of Bellamya spp. Snail in Karbala governorate). It is presented by Abeer Fadhil Khudair.
The thesis aims at achieving a detailed study of the freshwater snail (spp Bellamya) in the Al-Ayouj and Al-Rashdiya stations to see the details of its life, reproduction, density, population structure, living mass and secondary productivity due to the importance of this snail in the aquatic environment.
It deals with determining the characteristics of the aquatic environment in which the snails live (water quality and the bottom), a histological study of the gonads and some important parts of the body composition of the freshwater snail spp. Bellamya.
The thesis recommends conducting a molecular ecological study on B. bengalensis snails, and intensifying histological studies on the body parts of the study snails in particular and river snails in general.
