College of Medicine – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled Respiratory Bacterial of infection Influencing Pediatric asthma Correlation to Severity and Control in children”.
To be submitted by Mustafa Qahtan Hashim, the study highlights the nature of relationship between poor control of asthma and presence of specific bacterial isolates. The thesis shows effect of infection – especially Staphylococcus aureus infection – on immune indicators such as lymphocytes and types of immunoglobulins.
Dividing into five chapters, the thesis deals with a cross-sectional study that analyzed data from a sample of asthma patients in order to evaluate relationship between respiratory infection and severity of asthma and level of control over it.
The thesis recommends the need to take accurate therapeutic measures to improve control of asthma cases in children in order to reduce severity of the disease.
