University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Alteration of Medical Reports and its Impact on Criminal Procedures

College of Law, University of Kerbala, has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Alteration of Truth in Forensic Medical Reports and its Impact on Criminal Procedures.”
To be submitted by Reham Faisal Majeed, the study aims at determining the extent of the impact of this alteration on criminal evidence, negative consequences on course of litigation, and inherent dangers of such alteration, given that medical report is a legally relied-upon means of proof, particularly in revealing facts as they actually occurred, and its influence on decisions issued based upon it.
The study concludes that medical report plays a fundamental and undeniable role in criminal procedures and evidence. Furthermore, procedural legislation, both in Iraqi law and legislative studied, does not explicitly define forensic medical report, instead relegating its definition to legal scholars.
